Bulletin Board Ideas

Bulletin Boards are a great part of our classrooms. Bulletins boards can teach and/or enlighten your students.

Tissue Box BB I found this bulletin board in Mrs. L. Bernal's math classroom. She has cut tissue boxes in half and placed activities in box halves. Students can use activities after completing assignments or as a center activity.

Here is a new idea emailed in: "GUESS WHO?"-Here is a great hall or classroom bulletin board. Buy or cut out letters. At the top or in the middle of the bulletin board put the words "GUESS WHO". Have each student pick a piece of colored construction paper. Fold it in half. On the front have the kids write info about themselves- favorite food,sport,book,movie,etc... On the inside flap put the child's name and put their picture. Great for beginning or end of school year.

This bulletin board is great for identifying the setting of a story or books read. Nonfiction books and chapter books are great for this. After the student reads a book have them write the title of the book along with several sentences about the setting of the story. Then, have them use yarn to connect them write up to the location on the map.

The best classroom bulletin boards I have seen have a catchy title and show off the students' work. Students always enjoy seeing their work displayed. Let students select the work they want displayed on your bulletin board and once a week let them remove their displayed work from the previous week and let them put up their new work. This way your bulletin board is always current.
